Title of the Thesis: Non-rare earth-based new class of inorganic phosphors for lighting, medical imaging and security applications

Research Description:

  • Developed wide band gap oxide-based luminescent materials with high EQE for lighting and display applications.
  • Developed deep red/NIR emitting rare earth free phosphors by a scalable approach for cost-effective bio-imaging applications.
  • Designed and developed persistent phosphors for security applications.
  • Developed phosphors for indoor plant cultivation growth applications.
  • Mentored and trained MSc students in their master projects.
  • Directly involved in lab management and major instrumental operations (XRD, Spectrofluorometer, CCD spectrometer, FTIR, Microwave facilities, etc.)

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Spectroscopy techniques: Photoluminescence, UV-Vis-IR spectroscopy, FTIR, Raman.
  • Structural: Powder XRD, Thin film XRD, XPS.
  • Synthesis: Tube furnace with inert and reduction facilities, microwave synthesizer, microwave digester, muffle furnace, Ball Milling etc.
  • Synthetic skills: Solid state, Sol-gel, Solution Combustion, Hydrothermal, Microwave-assisted methods.
